New Year’s Resolutions

Why wait to make a healthy lifestyle change?  That’s really what a New Year’s Resolution is, right?

Why not make a change now?

Better yet…why make New Year’s Resolutions at all?

According to gallup.com, 80% of people who set New Year’s resolutions will have abandoned them by mid-February.

Gallup also suggests New Year’s Resolutions are based on “fixing” our weaknesses rather than focusing on our strengths.

Why not think of New Year’s Resolutions as accentuating our strengths and managing rather than “fixing” our weaknesses?

This year, 2021, think of what you do well and what you don’t do so well.  Find creative ways to do more of what you enjoy and do well.  Look outside the box to find ways to gain assistance with those things that just don’t turn your crank and make you fall into the 80% if listing those things as a “resolution”.

For example, if you hate to cook but love to clean house, see if you can make a trade with someone who loves to cook.  They cook meals for you in exchange for you cleaning their house.

Per Gallup’s research, productivity, satisfaction, and enthusiasm increase dramatically when people do what they do best every single day.

So, go out and do what you love and love what you do!
