It’s Cattle Season!

Even before moving back to my family’s ranch, my life was very cyclic over the course of a calendar year.  Is anyone else on board?  A show of hands, please.

Here’s the current cycle…

January through April=Cattle Season.

April through November=Waterski Season.

September through November=Kansas State Football Season.

As you see, some seasons overlap.

What you don’t see is that “Cattle Season” is truly year-round, but the time of year listed here is when there is barely time to breathe let alone sleep, eat healthy, intentionally exercise, or basically, conduct any form of self-care.

In a nutshell, what does this mean?

Lots of prayers for health and safety for animals and humans alike!

Lots of faith!

Long days!

Short nights!

Calving cows!

Annual production sale preparation!

Annual production sale!

Breeding cows!

And finally…hauling cows to pasture!
